What is Light Color

Light color is the specific color appearance or color temperature of a light source. The color appearance of light is measured using the Kelvin scale, which ranges from 1,000 Kelvin to 10,000 Kelvin. This scale helps designate the light appearance produced by a bulb or fixture. In general, lower Kelvin numbers indicate warmer or reddish light, while higher Kelvin numbers indicate cooler or bluish light.

When discussing light color in the context of residential lighting, there are two main categories: white lights and RGB (red, green, blue) lights. White lights are further categorized based on their color temperature. For example, neutral white lights fall within the range of 3100K to 4500K, providing a brighter and cleaner look. On the other hand, warm white lights have lower color temperatures, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. RGB lights have the ability to produce a wide range of colors by combining red, green, and blue light. This allows for customizable lighting options and creative effects.
