What is Dimming (PWM-Controlled)
Dimming (PWM-Controlled) is a method used to regulate the brightness of a light source, particularly LEDs, by employing Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signals. PWM dimming involves rapidly switching the electrical signal between ON and OFF states, effectively reducing the average deliverable power. This is achieved by adjusting the duration of the high (ON) and low (OFF) states of the signal.
Unlike analog dimming methods that alter the output power to dim LEDs, PWM dimming operates by providing either the full voltage or no electricity to the LEDs at any given time. For instance, instead of continuously supplying 12V, the PWM signal may deliver 10V for a specific duration to achieve a lower brightness level.

The key advantage of PWM dimming is its ability to rapidly switch the signal on and off, allowing for precise control over the average current and voltage supplied to the load. This enables the adjustment of brightness levels with high accuracy and efficiency. PWM dimming is widely utilized in the lighting industry due to its versatility and effectiveness, not only for dimming LEDs but also for controlling motors and various electrical equipment.
