What is Noid Light

A noid light is a specialized tool used in the automotive industry, specifically for diagnosing fuel injection systems. It is a test light that is designed to check the signals sent to various components, such as fuel injectors, ignition coils, oxygen sensor heaters, and other devices controlled by two wires. By plugging the noid light into the connectors of these components and activating it, mechanics can quickly determine if the signal and power are present.

The noid light is an invaluable tool for troubleshooting fuel injector-related issues, including misfires and starting problems. It helps confirm whether the fuel injection computer is properly pulsing the fuel injectors open when the engine is cranked. This verification of signal and power functionality provides crucial information for diagnosing fuel system problems.

Noid light kits typically include lights for different fuel injector connectors, as not all vehicles use the same type of connector. This ensures compatibility with a wide range of vehicles and fuel injection systems. By visually confirming that a specific fuel injector is receiving the necessary signal to fire, mechanics can narrow down potential issues and focus their diagnostic efforts.
