Guide to Motion Sensor Light Switch

First of all, an occupancy sensor is a kind of motion sensor. Any motion-detecting device can be called a motion sensor. An occupancy sensor is one kind of motion sensor that focus on detecting whether the sensitive area is occupied or unoccupied with people, thus controlling the light to turn on or off. Occupancy or vacancy is the sensor mode of how the motion sensor is detecting motion, so technically, they should be called occupancy mode or vacancy mode. They can be called different names when used on various motion-activated devices. When a motion sensor is on occupancy mode, the motion sensor can be called an occupancy sensor for short. When a motion sensor wall switch is on occupancy mode, the motion sensor switch can be called an occupancy sensor, occupancy sensor switch or just a motion sensor switch for short.
