What is Type T Bulb
A type T bulb is a light bulb that has a tubular shape. The “T” in “type T” stands for “tubular.” These bulbs are commonly used for halogen lighting and are characterized by their tubular shape and double-ended base, which typically consists of dual prongs. However, there are also single-ended type T bulbs available in the market.

Type T bulbs come in various sizes, with the most common being T3 and T4. T3 bulbs have a width of ⅜ inch, while T4 bulbs have a width of ½ inch. Additionally, there are also T2, T5, and T6 halogen and LED bulbs available, although these may be less widely compatible with standard fixtures.
When replacing a type T halogen bulb with an LED bulb, it is important to ensure that not only the type but also the size of the bulb is correct. Compatibility with the base construction of the fixture should also be considered.
