What is Insulating Layer
Insulating Layers are layers of material that are designed to retain heat and provide insulation. These layers prevent heat transfer between the lighting system and surrounding insulation materials, such as fiberglass or cellulose insulation. It ensures the safety of the installation by creating a barrier that limits the heat generated by the light from reaching dangerous levels.
Typically, insulating layers are constructed using two layers of metal casing with a pocket of air in between. This configuration helps to diffuse the heat and prevent the outer layer of metal from becoming excessively hot. By effectively insulating the lighting system, these layers contribute to energy efficiency by reducing heat loss and allowing for the use of lower wattage lamps.
