This makes T12 bulbs larger in diameter compared to T8 bulbs, which have a diameter of one inch. T12 bulbs are commonly used in commercial and industrial settings, such as office buildings, warehouses, and retail stores.

In terms of compatibility, T12 fixtures can be easily converted to use T8 LED tubes. This is because T12 fixtures typically have non-shunted tombstones, which are compatible with LED tubes. In contrast, T8 fixtures have shunted tombstones, which require replacement during the LED conversion process.
