Wall Switch

Wall mount occupancy sensors are motion sensor wall switches that can be easily installed into wall boxes and replace the manual light switches. Wall mount occupancy sensors integrate a PIR motion sensor on the surface with a 150° detection range and require a clear sight of view for the lens to receive emitted infrared signals from moving warm bodies. Motion sensor wall switches are easy for users to operate like a wall switch, so they are available in both occupancy and vacancy mode.

Ceiling Mount

Ceiling mount occupancy sensors are mounted in the electrical boxes on the ceiling and have a broad 360° detection coverage. They have less restriction for the layout of the space because they can detect motions clearly from the top and are often used in conjunction with wall mount sensors. Rayzeek’s ceiling occupancy sensors are hardwired, line voltage powered and can provide consistent performance. Guide to Occupancy Sensor

A motion sensor light switch is a motion-activated wall switch integrated with a motion sensor that can automatically turn on/off the light when motion is detected. A motion sensor light switch is also called a motion sensor switch for its ability to not only control lights but also able to control other motion-activated devices, such as exhaust fans in the bathroom or air conditioners in a room.

Motion sensors use three different kinds of technologies to detect movement: passive infrared(PIR) technology, ultrasonic technology and dual-tech technology which combines both PIR and ultrasonic technology. All three technologies have their pros and cons, while PIR motion sensors are still the most popular and widely used technology with significant advantages such as ultra-durable, being the most inexpensive, and low energy consumption.

Light Sensor/Daylight Sensing
The light sensor or daylight sensing function allows a motion sensor to detect the ambient light with an integrated photocell. When the feature is enabled, the motion sensor will not turn on the light when there is enough natural light to save electricity in the daytime.

Time Delay

Time delay is the time that keeps the light on after no motion is being detected. This time window can keep the lighting consistent and prevent the motion sensor from falsely turning off the light due to a temporary motion-detecting failure.

Sensor Sensitivity

Sensor sensitivity is how far or how sensitive the motion sensor is able to detect a movement, especially a small motion. High sensitivity is not always good as it can be too sensitive, making the sensor to be able to detect people walking past the room which might falsely turn on the light when no one is in the room.
