What is HID Lamp

A HID lamp, short for High-Intensity Discharge lamp, is a type of gas discharge lamp which operates by creating an electric arc between two electrodes within an ionized gas. Enclosed in a specialized arc discharge tube made of quartz or sintered alumina, the electrodes, gas, and sometimes metal salts are hermetically sealed.
