For example, an IP rating of 0 means no protection against water, while an IP rating of 9 means protection against high-pressure water jets.
These IP ratings are crucial in determining the suitability of a lighting fixture for different environments. For outdoor applications, where exposure to harsh weather conditions is expected, fixtures with higher IP ratings, such as IP44 to IP68, are recommended. In wet areas like bathrooms or gardens, IP54 to IP65 ratings are suitable, depending on the positioning of the lights.
