What is Warm Light

Start by choosing the right light bulbs for your space. For bedrooms and living rooms, opt for Soft White bulbs with a color temperature of 2,700 to 3,000 Kelvins. In kitchens, bathrooms, and brighter areas, go for Warm White bulbs with a temperature of 4,000K to 5,000K. Avoid bulbs with higher temperatures. Additionally, remember that the brightness of the light is determined by the number of lumens, so consider this when making your selection.

Bathroom lighting experts typically advise using warm white light for bathroom lighting. This type of lighting, with a color temperature of 2700-3000 kelvins (K), is considered the most flattering for bathrooms.

For hallways, it is recommended to choose a warmer color temperature, such as 2700K or 3000K. This will help create a cozy and inviting atmosphere when entering the home. On the other hand, higher Kelvin numbers produce a brighter blue-toned light, which is ideal for focusing on details but can become uncomfortable over long periods.

Bulbs that emit warm white light are typically labeled as yellow, while bulbs that emit cool white light are labeled as white. The yellow label indicates a temperature range of mostly 2700K-3000K, while the white label indicates a temperature range of 6000K-6500K.

‘Warm’ describes the appearance of warm white LEDs accurately. Warm white light is characterized by a gentle tone, incorporating subtle hints of red and yellow. When illuminated, warm white LEDs emit a sunny hue, similar to the light produced by conventional 60W incandescent bulbs.

Most under cabinet applications typically use static white light, although there are cases where color changing RGB lights or dynamic tunable white may be needed. When it comes to white light, you will need to choose the desired color temperature or shade of white. Color temperature is measured in kelvins, with lower temperatures indicating warmer light.

In a living room with white walls, opting for warm lighting is typically a favorable choice. This is because the white walls reflect the warm light, creating a cozy and bright atmosphere.

Ask any expert in TV calibration, and they will advise you that the ideal color temperature for bias lights used with TVs is approximately 6500K, also known as the D65 color point. This color temperature can be likened to the hue of daylight on a slightly cloudy day. The reason behind choosing 6500K is as follows:
